Probe into murder demanded

KOKRAJHAR, May 3: The All Gorkha Students’ Union (AGSU), BTC region and Assam Gorkha Sanmilan (AGS) on Thursday expressed strong resentment over the murder of Narayan Bharal of Saralpara at Ultapani near Bhutan border on May 2 and demanded proper inquiry and arrest of the culprits involved in the heinous crime. Bharal was the sub-inspector of the excise department and he was on his way to his Saralpara residence along the Indo-Bhutan border from Kokrajhar when unknown miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons at Ultapani on Wednesday evening.  The general secretary of Assam Gorkha Sanmelan, Bhaskar Dahal in a press statement on Thursday said there had been frequent killings of Gorkha people in Saralpara area since 2002 and after a gap of 15 years the killing of Bharal had created sensation in the area. He said there should be a proper inquiry into this murder. He also demanded that the culprits involved in the killing of Bharal should be brought to book as early as possible.
