Process for constituting Lokayukta begins

ITAGAR, Aug 1: Giving shape to his commitment for a strong and effective Lokayukta for the state, Chief Minister bam Tuki chaired the first meeting of Selection Committee under Aruchal Pradesh Lokayukta Act 2014 here on Friday.

The meeting which was attended by selection committee members, Justice B K Sharma, Judge of Gauhati High Court and Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi discussed at length on the procedural issues and modalities for constitution of search committee under section 4 of sub-section 3 of the Aruchal Pradesh Lokayukta Act 2014.

Leader of opposition, who is one of the members of the committee was absent as he was out of station on the day.

The committee further resolved to convene their next meeting in the end of Aug next. With this meeting, the process of constitution of Lokayukta for Aruchal Pradesh has begun.

Meanwhile, Tuki today congratulated Aruchalee boy Mingki Talom for winning the all India under 18 lawn tennis championships at Gaur City stadium, Noida organized by All India Tennis Association.

With this win, Talom has become the first Aruchalee to put his foot in the field of Tennis.  Tuki in his congratulatory remarks said “while congratulating you on behalf of the state government and of course on my own behalf, I would like to place on record that this is a true recognition of your sincere effort and hard work.”

“You have become a role model for the youth of the state to emulate and I am sure, you will continue to put your best foot forward and bring many more laurels to our tribal state in the field of sports. We are proud of you!” an elated Tuki further added.

The chief minister also congratulated Tipi RFO Kime Rambia for being awarded for his outstanding contributions towards protection of wildlife by a tiol television.

Appreciating Rambia for the rare feat, Tuki said that he has set an example for other forest officials and citizens to follow his righteous path of conservation and protection of forest and wildlife.
