Prof Anda Bormudoi conferred Dambaru Kakoti Memorial Award

SIVASAGAR, Feb 1: Noted critic, essayist and former Head of the Department of English at Dibrugarh University, Prof (Dr) Anda Bormudoi was awarded the second Dambaru Kakoti Memorial Award by Sivasagar Zila Xahitya Xabha in its 19th triennial session held in the Dr Mahendra Bora Kshetra at Rupohi High School premises recently. Dr Bormudoi has been contributing immensely to the field of literary criticism for about four decades and is an authority in post-modern literary criticism. Accepting the award, Prof Bormudoi thanked the Zila Xahitya Xabha and stressed the need to carry out vigorous experimentations with use of new and more pragmatic words to connote diverse meanings in the changing environment. The award, instituted in the me of former Professor of Assamese at Sibsagar College, Joysagar, was previously awarded to Dr Niranjan Mahanta Bezborua.
