Programme for PRI members on SHG concept held

GAURISAGAR, JULY 18: Krishak Nyas, a reputed NGO of Sivasagar district,  organized a programme on Monday  for the members of Panchayati Raj institutions  on SHG concept  at Amguri tya Mandir under Amguri development block, sponsored by tiol Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (BARD). Addressing the PRI members, Lakheswar Mahanta, District Development Mager (DDM), BARD, Sivasagar rrated briefly about the concept of Self-Help Group movement. Citing the history of SHG, Mahanta said that good SHGs could change the economic scerio of the society. The DDM also spoke about Pradhan Mantir Bima Surakshya Yoja (PMBSY),  Pradhan Montir Jibon Jyoti  Bima Yoja (PMJJBSY) and Atal Pension Yoja (APY) and appealed to  the PRI members to boost the aims of the SHG  and insurance schemes for the betterment  of  the downtrodden. Participating the programme as a resource persons Ramesh Chandra Dutta, Branch Mager, Asom Grameen Vikash Bank (AGVB), Haluating Branch and Mohini Baruah, Branch Manger, AGVB Amguri Branch  rrated the process of SHG formation, it credit linkage.
