Prohibitory order imposed

Shillong, Aug 22: Pynursla Sub-Divisiol Magistrate, East Khasi Hills district, has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC in the Sub-Division restraining any person, company or authority from carrying out illegal stone quarrying and sand mining in the hill slopes as well as removing sand from the riverbeds without obtaining proper permission/license from the concerned authorities. The order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders, the notification stated.
