Prohibitory orders clamped

SHILLONG, April 17: The Ri Bhoi district administration has promulgated Section 144 CrPC prohibiting all uuthorized persons/middlemen along with their private vehicles stationing in and around the Umling Integrated Check Gate. According to the district administration, this order has been issued after certain unscrupulous elements manifesting as middlemen along with their private vehicles have been found loitering and operating in and around Umling Integrated Check Gate. The Ri-Bhoi district administration said that these persons has an ulterior motive of attempting to bypass the weighed coal trucks at the Katta without subsequent mandatory payment of sales tax to the authorities concerned which may cause huge revenue loss to the Government.
