Prohibitory orders issued

SHILLONG, Feb 10: The deputy commissioner of Ri Bhoi district has imposed prohibitory orders on use of loud music or sound system in public or private event. Informing that that Rule 5 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 restricts use of loud speakers/Public Address System and other sound producing instruments which causes noise pollution and disturbance to public, particularly at night except in closed premises or a public emergency and with a permission from the authority, the deputy commissioner said that violators will be dealt strictly.
