Prominent Assam Agitation activist passes away

DHEKIAJULI, March 8: Chultan Hussain, a prominent activist of the Assam Agitation,  breathed his last on Wednesday at the New Delhi-based Apollo Hospital at the age of 56. Chultan was suffering from a critical disease for the last few months.  As the news of Chultan’s death  spread at his hometown Missamari  under Dhekiajuli subdivision, people condoled his demise. Hussain was the vice-president of Tezpur District AGP. He also served as the president of AGP Dhekiajuli constituency till his death. Different political party leaders, social workers and Dhekiajuli and Missamari  units  of  AASU  expressed  deep condolence and prayed for his eterl peace.  The Dhekiajuli unit of AASU declared a seven-hour Dhekiajuli bandh from 6 am  to 1 pm on Friday in honour of Chultan Hussain. Dharmeswar Saikia, Assam Agitation leader and noted social worker of Dhekiajuli, expressed his deep condolence.
