Prominent Businesswoman Maisena Bora Passes Away

JORHAT: A pious social worker and proprietor of Jorhat Gas House, Maisena Bora passed away at her Rajamaidam Colony residence in the wee hours of Tuesday. She died of cardiac arrest. She was 89 and leaves behind her son Prabhat Bora, a prominent businessman of Jorhat district, and a host of relatives.

Her last rites were performed at the Tarajan crematorium in presence of a huge gathering on Tuesday. Her demise was condoled by the Upper Assam Chambers of Commerce, AJYCP and members of the Bar Association. “Jorhat will miss a social worker who had made immense contribution to the society,” said Hridoy Bora, a ward commissioner of the Jorhat Municipality Board.
