Prominent senior citizen passes away

Dibrugarh, July 19: Prominent senior citizen and one of the pioneers of modern civil engineering works of undivided North Lakhimpur, siruddin Ahmed, breathed his last on Tuesday at 3.45 pm at his residence in North Lakhimpur following prolonged illness. He was 87.  A man of utmost simplicity and progressive ideas, Ahmed leaves behind a legacy of credible civil public engineering work in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts which still stand proudly at different installations. He is survived by his wife, two sons, three daughters, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, four grand children and a host of other family members.  His jaja took place on Wednesday at North Lakhimpur Town Kabarstan (burial ground). His death has been widely mourned across all sections of the society in North Lakhimpur.
