Promote Ayush, Yoga for better healthcare: Governor Acharya

Itagar, July 29: Aruchal Pradesh Governor PB Acharya said a healthy population is crucial for inclusive development and tion-building, insisting that universal access to minimum and quality healthcare is a social as well as economic necessity.
Gracing the iugural function of the 10th General Conference of Aruchal Pradesh Doctors’ Association (APDA) here on Friday, Acharya said that India possess an unmatched heritage represented by its ancient systems of medicine like Ayurvedic, Uni, Siddha and Homeopathy which are a treasure house of knowledge for preventive healthcare. He called upon the doctors to promote AYUSH and yoga. The governor also advised the doctors to carry out research on health related issues of the State and also adopt villages.
    While stating that achievers must be givers, the governor pointed out that empowered people must explore ways and means to address the challenges of the society. 
     The governor further emphasised on availability of health care services quantitatively in terms of physical infrastructure and trained manpower, including doctors, nurses, auxiliary nurses and midwifes. He also underscored on the need for quality and affordability healthcare services to vast majority of the population. “Let us give our best today for healthy and vibrant Aruchal Pradesh tomorrow,” he added.
Earlier, the governor felicitated the special invitees including Parliamentary Secretary (Health) Nido Pavitra, former OSD to Parliamentary Secretary (Health) Bikash Bage, among others, Raj Bhawan communiqué informed here on Saturday.
