Proper relief and help for flood victims demanded

Golaghat (Dhekial), July 16: The activists of Golaghat District Congress Committee (GDCC) staged a protest near the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday demanding provide proper relief and help to the flood victims. More than 200 members took part in the protest rally and shouted various slogans against  the Sarbanda Sonowal-government. Talking to media persons, the president of GDCC, Dr. Ajit Baruah said, “Various villages under the Golaghat district have been submerged by flood water. More villages are still under the flood water and the people of the villages had to leave their homes and take shelter in relief camps. Hectares of agricultural land and crops have been destroyed by flood.” They submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding proper relief and help to the flood victims as well as food items, pure drinking water, medicines and other essential commodities as soon as possible.
