Proper relief and help for flood victims demanded

Golaghat (Dhekial), July 12: A team of Golaghat district Scheduled Caste Community Council visited various flood-affected areas under the Kacharihat mouza in Golaghat district on Tuesday. Stating in a press release, the president and secretary of the organization, Dilip Das and Rubul Das respectively, said that almost 60 per cent of seven villages had been submerged by flood water where more than 800 hectares of agricultural land had been destroyed by floods. The people of Rojakhat, Bokolai Gaon, Kopohuwating pamua gaon, Kumar Gaon, Bosa Bhorolua, Bebejia and Charingia had to leave their homes and taken shelter in relief camps. They submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat demanding proper relief and help to the flood victims as well as food items, medicines and other essential commodities as soon as possible.
