Pros and cons of CBCS in undergraduate level explained

Haflong, Aug 26: The Interl Quality Assurance Cell of Haflong Government College organized a UGC sponsored one-day State-level workshop on ‘Choice Base Credit System (CBCS) in UG Level’ for the first time at the New Building (Arts Block, Ground Floor), Haflong Government College on Saturday. The day’s programme started with welcoming of teachers from several colleges of Dima Hasao along with resource person from Silchar and Badarpur that was followed by felicitation of Principal of bin Chandra College Dr. Mortuja Hussain and other dignitaries.
Dr Mizanur Rahman, Principal Haflong Government College and also the president of the committee, explained how the new Choice Base Credit System (CBCS) in undergraduate level would help the students in their future career. The resource persons conducting technical sessions explained the pros and cons of the new system to all the attending teachers, while advocating the importance of the new system for the benefit of the students’ community.
Dr Thangkim Haolai, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English and also convener of the organizing committee, talking to this correspondent and said that the aim of the workshop was to make all the teachers acquainted with this new system which was going to be introduced in every college under Assam University from next year. She said this new Choice Base Credit System (CBCS) in undergraduate level would definitely help the students in their studies and career.
