Protect indigenous faiths, CM urged

Itagar, July 4: Representatives of various organisations led by Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Aruchal Pradesh (IFCSAP) met Chief Minister Pema Khandu and submitted a memorandum for protection, preservation and promotion of indigenous faith, cultural heritages and languages. An IFCSAP spokesperson said the delegation had 15 members from organisations including Nyishi Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society (NIFCS), Donyi Polo Yelam Kebang (DPYK) and Galo Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society (GIFCC). The delegates apprised the chief minister of the problems being faced by indigenous people of state to which the latter assured to look into. The delegates including IFCSAP President Dr Ligu Tacho, General Secretary Bai Taba, NIFCS Advisor Dr bam Tata and DPYK Secretary Oying Moyong also met the chief minister’s Advisor Tai Tagak.
