Protest against BJP, Congress over land swap deal

DIBRUGARH, May 6: Hundreds of Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) and Asom Yuba Parishad (AYP) members headed by District AGP president Pokon Baruah and State AYP president Sunil Rajkonwar, protesting BJP and Congress Party’s treachery in land swapping issue, burnt the effigies of Prime Minister rendra Modi and the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, at Chowkidinghi intersection on Wednesday. “Our stand on the issue is totally different than other political parties. Since signing of the agreement, the party has been opposing it and will continue to oppose it. We condemn the BJP and Congress party’s betrayal and urge upon the people to give fitting reply to both the tiol parties for playing with the public sentiments and feelings,” the AYP president Sunil Rajkonwar said.
