Protest against Centre's notification in Duliajan

DULIAJAN, September 28: The members of various organizations like Sadou Asom Mottock Yuba Chatra Sanmilan (SAMYCS), All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Asom Moran Sabha (AMS), Chutia Chatra Santha (CCS), Gorkha Students’ Union (GSU), Brihottar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM) and Agrogami Mahila Samity (AMS) Duliajan Regiol committee staged a three-hour sit-in in front of the OLD Bus Stand, Duliajan on Monday in protest against the rendra Modi-led BJP government for taking the decision to offer citizenship to Hindu Bengalis, Christians, Jains and Buddhists of Bangladesh and Pakistan who migrated from Bangladesh and Pakistan to India before December 31 ,2014. SAMYCS former general secretary Mintu Borpatra Gohain, SAMYCS Information and Publicity secretary Bulbul Neog, ATASU Dibrugarh district committee president Miram Gogoi and Information and secretary Pranjal Rajknower stated that that this decision would adversely affect Assam. The activists later submitted a memorandum to Tengakhat Revenue Circle through OC of Duliajan Police Station, Rajib Kumar Saikia. All the presidents and secretaries of the seven organizations took part in the demonstration.
