Protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

NAGAON, May 21: The district unit of Krishak Sramik Unnayan Parishad (KSUP) on Monday staged sit-in against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon. The protesters displayed various placards against the Union and State governments and demanded withdrawal of the bill without delay as it would destroy the identity of the indigenous people of the State. They also appealed to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to play the role of a great leader and scrap the bill before it is passed.
