Protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill by Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti

GAURISAGAR: The Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti, Amguri regional committee on Tuesday burnt the effigies of JPC for taking initiative to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill despite vicarious objections raised in every nook and corner of the State.

The activists of Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti vehemently condemned the act of the JPC members and burnt their effigies in the heart of Amguri town on the first day of the new year. The activists shouted various slogans and demanded scraping of the bill. Today’s protest was led by Sivasagar District Committee president Dulal Kalita.

On the other hand, the activists also blocked the Dn Awadh-Assam Express at Barahibari under Barahibari Anchalik Samiti.
