Protest against corruption in NH-15 road-widening construction work

 From a Correspondent

DHEKIAJULI, March 15: The citizens of Alisinga near Dhekiajuli  expressed serious concern on the alleged corruption in the NH-15 road widening construction work by the contractors and observed  a road blockade programme at the Alisinga  NH-15 near Dhekiajuli  on Thursday. The angry protesters burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal at the protest site and  alleged that within a month of NH-15 road widening construction work, the NH-15 near Alisinga had a number of potholes due to which several road mishaps had taken place in that area in the last few weeks.
The protesters demanded immediate action against the corrupt contractors involved in the recent road widening construction works. Badrul Islam, the adviser,  Dhekiajuli unit Muslim Students’ Union of Assam, said that if the road developed potholes within a month of road construction works, then how could the people believe that the present government had zero tolerance towards corruption?
He demanded immediate action against the contractors and other officials involved in the large-scale corruption in NH-15 road widening works. He also demanded a departmental enquiry into their allegation.
