Protest against gambling at grijuli

Tamulpur, June 27: Greater grijuli Students’ Organization, which was constituted with grijuli AASU, ABSU, ATTSA, AASA, ASSA, BYSF and AGSU, staged a two-hour protest against gambling on Tuesday at grijuli market under Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district.

Leaders of the mentioned students’ organizations, local intellectuals, social workers and students from various local educatiol institutions participated in the protest and demanded steps to stop these anti-social activities.

Greater grijuli Students’ Organization handed over a memorandum to Aditya Gogoi, Assistant Commissioner of Tamulpur subdivision, for SDO (Civil), Tamulpur. The organization also separately handed over a memorandum to the officer in-charge of grijuli Police Outpost for the Superintendent of Police of Baksa district. Aditya Gogoi assured to take necessary action to stop gambling and anti-social activities.
