Protest against price rise

From a Correspondent

MARGHERITA, Oct 4: Activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (AJYP) Tinsukia district committee on Wednesday burnt the effigy of State Food and Civil Supply Minister Rihon Daimari in protest against the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities.

Activists of AJYP shouted various slogans against the BJP-led Government of Assam and State Food and Civil Supply Minister for failing to control the prices of essential commodities. Pranjal Pratim Neog, general secretary(I/C) Tinsukia District Committee, said that the Sonowal government’s first agenda was to control price rise but even after one-and-half years of the BJP-led government in Assam, no changes had been brought in so far as price rise was concerned. He said that the previous Congress government and the present BJP-led government had the same ideology and both work for the capitalists and corporate sector.

Pranjal Pratim Neog said that Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal had failed in his promises which he made before the assembly polls and in the coming election the people of Assam would give a befitting reply.
