Protest against rising crime against women

GOLAGHAT, March 31:  The women of Golaghat town on Saturday came out on the road and gathered in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office staging  protest against the continuous rapes and murders taking place in Assam. The women protesters raised several slogans against the Sarbanda Sonowal-led BJP government for failing to provide safety and security to women. They slammed the government for not taking stringent action after several rape and murder cases took place. The protest was carried out under the leader ship of Manisha Gogoi Hazarika.  
 The protesters demanded strict law against rapists and hanging them. They also demanded the government to ascertain safety and security of women. Further, they submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat.
