Protest against threat to scribe

GAON (HAIBORGAON), August 26: Sensation prevailed in gaon on Friday following a local jourlist receiving a threatening letter from some unidentified miscreants. The letter purportedly threatened the scribe of facing dire consequences if he files reports against Islam. Meanwhile, gaon Press Club in this connection organized a protest meet here on Friday and condemned the incident. Various organizations of the district as well as persons also condemned the threat to the jourlists. Organizations like Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad, Assam, gaon Senior Citizens Union, Assam Xahitya Xanmilani, All Assam Jourlists Union, gaon Electronic Media Association and former Chief Minister Prafulla Kr Mahanta also condemned the incident.
