Protest by Margherita Town Committee employees

MARGHERITA, February 26: Margherita Town Committee Employees’ Association staged a three-day protest from February 24 to February 26 in front of the office of Margherita Town Committee. The Margherita Town Committee Employees’ Association has been demanding provincialization of the services of the employees. Prab Hazarika, president of Margherita Town Committee Employees’ Association said that 11 years had passed since the formation of Margherita Town Committee but till now their jobs had not been provincialized. “Unless the Assam Government does not take our demand seriously, from March 2 we will launch a massive democratic agitation,” said Hazarika.
