Protest by tea workers

DIMAKUCHI, Jan 19: The ‘anti-labour’ policy adopted by the Central Government led by Prime Minister rendra Modi made the tea workers of Borengajuli TE, Attareekhat TE and Dimakuchi TE take to the streets on Thursday.

The demonetization move, the workers’ payment system as well as discontinuing their decade-old privilege of receiving fair priced ration, rice, flour, tea and firewood from the garden magement were slammed by the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) Borengajuli Primary Unit. Tea workers came out in thousands, shouting slogans against the government.
