Protest in Sivasagar against Dimapur lynching

Sivasagar, March 10: A large number protesters gathered in Sivasagar on Tuesday to protest against the lynching of Sariffuddin Khan in Dimapur, galand.

The protesters shouted slogans against the galand government and the ga Students’ Federation and demanded President’s rule to be imposed in the State.  Among the protesters were members of the All Assam Minorities Students’ Union and the Assam Muslim Kalyan Parishad.

A protest meet was also held where veteran sportsman and social worker Mehdi Masood Ahmed was present. He said that the ga Students’ Federation was heavily responsible for the lynching of Sariffuddin Khan, as it was carried out by the members of the Federation. He also criticized the brutal manner in which Khan was killed.

Regiol Working President of the Assam Muslim Kalyan Parishad, Manirul Islam talked about the indifference of the ga Students’ Federation and the ga government towards the killing. The silence of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) on this incident was also criticized.
