Protest march against atrocities on women

Biswath Chariali, April 6: In association with the students of local colleges and schools and other organizations like AASU, AJYCP, SYCPA, AATSA, AASA, ABSU, VHP, TAYPA and Facebook Friends Club, the students’ union of Biswath College took out a protest march from the college campus to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Biswath on Thursday demanding an end to ubated atrocities against women in the State.

 The protesters urged the government to bring legislation to award death sentence to rapists immediately. They also shouted slogans denouncing the State Government for its failure to ensure the security of life and property of women. The protest march was iugurated by Dr Mril Kumar Borah, Principal of Biswath College. The students’ union submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Biswath.
