Protest over Dimapur lynching continues

DIBRUGARH, March 13: The Dibrugarh district committee of All Assam Muslim Yuba Parishad (socialist), took out a protest rally from its office at Fish Market.

The rally passed through the main road of the town. The protestors later staged a dhar in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in support of their demands.

The Parishad demanded arrest of all those involved in the lynching of Syed Farid Khan in Dimapur and the girl who leveled the rape charges against him.

The organization also demanded an inquiry on into the entire incident by a retired high court judge and stern punishment to all those involved in the crime. A press communiqué, issued by the president and secretary of the AAMY (socialist), stated that the   Assam bandh call given on March 13 has been deferred due to ongoing HSSLC examition.

The organization later said that the agitation would be intensified till the killers of Khan are bbed.
