Protest over irregular power supply

MARGHERITA, Aug 22: garik Suraksha Samity Baragolai activists on Tuesday gheraoed the Baragolai Colliery office for more than six hours in protest against the disconnection of water and electricity supply at Baragolai from the last three days. More than 300 local people of Baragolai and members of garik Suraksha Samity Baragolai took out a rally and gheraoed the Baragolai Colliery office where all the employees were locked inside the room for more than six hours. Prakash Sharma and Amit Debth, president and scretary of garik Suraksha Samity Baragolai, said that the Kanoi Gogoi, an agent of Baragolai Colliery, allegedly disconnected the water and electricity supply since the last three days at Holez line, Tikak line, MK line, Pathan line and Jumma line of Baragolai area under Margherita Police station due to which the residents were suffering a lot. Margherita Sub Divisiol Police Officer, Margherita Police Station in-charge and security personnel of NEC CIL Margherita took control of the situation and agent Kanoi Gogoi agreed to restore the water and electricity supply at Baragolai area.
