Protest over Pakistani flag

Dibrugarh, Jan 9: Sensation prevailed in the town following the hoisting of Pakistani flag in the Chapori area near Amoraguri village on Sunday. The police seized the flag and two other black flags from the same location. However, police claimed this was a handiwork of some miscreants who tried to create an atmosphere of chaos. In protest against the incident, the members of Bajrang Dal, Hindu Jagaran Manch and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Monday took out a protest rally which passed through the main thoroughfare of the town. The protesters burnt Pakistani flag and demanded immediate arrest of all those persons involved in the anti- tiol activity. Police investigation is on. Meanwhile, another incident of scuffle near Kartickpara took place between AASU members and local businessmen. The AASU members alleged that the businessmen had insulted them with abusive words when they had approached them for dotion for their programme.
