Protest rally against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

Tamulpur, June 2: A protest rally was taken out on Saturday at Gandhibari under Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa. It was organized by Baksa district Krishak Mukti Sangram Samittee against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

More than 200 protesters gathered at Kankata Chowk of Gandhibari in front of the office of the KMSS, Gandhibari Anchalik Samitee and they moved to Gandhibari weekly market. The protesters shouted slogans against the Modi-led BJP government and displayed banners, posters and festoons demanding scrapping of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. Central joint secretary of KMSS, Mukut Deka, Baksa district president of KMSS, Niladhar Kalita, Baksa district secretary of KMSS, Thaneswar Kalita, and other leaders took part in the rally.
