Protest rally against Silapathar incident in Raidongia

Batadrava, March 15:  A protest rally was taken out here at Raidongia, gaon by student organizations comprising gaon district Anusuchit Jati Yuba Chatra Parishad and its Raidongia wing and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad Raidongia unit demanding the arrest of the main culprit Subodh Biswas and all others involved in the vandalism of the martyrs’ column and AASU office at Silapathar in Dhemaji district, and repeal of Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016.
The protest rally was taken out from the Swahid Smriti Bhavan in Raidongia. It passed through Garaimari Chalchali and reached the DC office, gaon. The protesters gathered in front of the gaon Deputy Commissioner’s office and raised slogans against Subodh Biswas, the BJP government and against illegal Bangladeshi migrants. They also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of gaon regarding various demands.
“We want exemplary punishment for the culprits, who outraged the dignity of Assamese people and also want immediate arrest of Subodh Biswas. We strongly condemned the BJP government’s role on the migrants’ issue,” Sanjiv Das, general secretary of Anusuchit Jati Yuba Chatra Parishad, Assam, said.
