PRSI confers prestigious award on IOCL

DIGBOI, Dec  31: At the 37th All India Public Relations Conference which was organized recently by Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) in Ahmedabad, professiols and companies were felicitated and adequately awarded for demonstrating excellence in public relations and corporate communications practices in their respective locations.

Major public sector corporate, government departments, multitiol companies and private sector corporate contended for various categories of awards.    RS Sodhi, Maging Director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (AMUL) and Dr. Ajit Pathak, the tiol President PRSI presented the awards to the winners.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) won two prestigious awards including the IOCL AOD, Digboi which bagged the first prize in Best CSR Project in Women Empowerment category for Assam Oil School of Nursing located in Digboi AOD Hospital premises.

This institution based in Digboi has transformed the lives of over 400 girls by preparing them as nurses to serve in the healthcare sector at various fronts and different places. Established in 1986, Assam Oil School of Nursing now also offers B.Sc in Nursing.

Another award conferred upon IOCL (AOD) was for the category of Special/Prestige Publication in which a unique publication titled Digboi Revisited – selected readings from history of oil and gas in Digboi won a silver award.

The book is a collection of priceless letters, articles, tales; which lay embedded in old jourls and books in Digboi archives and is researched and edited by Sabee Chowdhary, the Mager (Corporate Communications).
