PSPB Inter-Unit volleyball kicks off at Digboi

DIGBOI, March 20: The 36th PSPB Inter-Unit volleyball tourment which is being been hosted by AOD Digboi and organized under the banner of Petroleum Sports promotion Board has been underway  this evening with  six different teams belonging to Oil and Petroleum sector fighting for the championship here at the historic jubilee playground of the Oil City Digboi in Tinsukia District.

Soon after the iuguration of the tourment by Mrityunjoy Pramanik the new Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation, Assam Oil Division amidst significant gatherings including the officials of Assam Volleyball Association, officials AOD Digboi, team of Magers, sports fans, the fierce battle of the maiden day tourmnet among the participants including the team Oil India Limited, ONGC, MRPL, OIL and CPCL ensued on league basis.

Addressing the gatherings, Pramanik said that Indian Oil Corporation (Assam Oil Division) has made sporting facilities available both for the employees and the people of Digboi and keenly promotes nurturing of sporting talent in the region in several ways. He added, “Organizing the 36th PSPB Inter-Unit volleyball tourment in digboi is a much awaited event and I must also compliment the PSPB for it is under their patroge that many budding sports persons have reached the pincle in their chosen discipline as tiol champions and have also brought laurels to the tion in several prestigious intertiol tourments.”

Meanwhile Kishore Dutta an officials of the AOD Digboi told that participating teams of the tourment include Oil India Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Cheni Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), Oil & tural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and IOCL (AOD). He added ‘last year defending champion ONGC would be seen in action along with all the other teams which boast of having intertiol level players.

Meanwhile, the field boasts of some of India’s top professiols including Lalit Kumar of ONGC, Vimal T Jacob of BPCL BS Chauhan of Oil India Limited.  The fil of the tourment would be played on 23rd next.
