Public Distribution System Anomaly: 6 Supply Agents held

GUWAHATI, July 16: The CM Special Vigilance Cell on Monday arrested six PDS supply agents under Batradava Satra Samabai Samiti Ltd for alleged misappropriation of ‘Atta’, meant for distribution among locals. An inquiry held into the misappropriation and pilferage of PDS items from 2011 to 2017, had revealed serious anomalies in distribution of PDS Atta worth Rs 11.64 crore. The arrested persons shall be produced before the Special Court on Tuesday.
