Public Information Campaign kicked off in Dhemaji

JOI, Dec 28: A three-day Public Information Campaign (PIC), organized by Press Information Bureau in collaboration with the District Administration kicked off today in Joi sub-division of Dhemaji district.

The deputy commissioner of Dhemaji iugurated the exhibition stalls put up by various government departments, SHGs and NGOs of Dhemaji.

While delivering his iugural speech, he expresses his heartfelt gratitude to Press Information Bureau, Guwahati for organizing such campaign in the easternmost bordering district of Assam.

In his welcome speech M Doley, deputy director, PIB Guwahati, said that it is a significant initiative undertaken by Press Information Bureau in collaboration with District Administration and other media units of Ministry of I & B. He said, “The Central government with the help of respective State governments through its various agencies under the supervision of district administrations attempts to implement welfare schemes for the people of grass root levels. But due to lack of awareness and proper information, the targeted section is not yet fully aware about the schemes.”

An interactive session was held after the iugural function, in which resource persons from different government departments spoke about the government schemes.
