Pul appoints 15 parliamentary secretaries

ITAGAR, March 18: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul today appointed 15 Parliamentary Secretaries (PS) to assist him in smooth functioning of the government.

Pul administered the oath and secrecy of office to the new parliamentary secretaries in a simple function organised at Banquet Hall here in presence of deputy Chief Ministers Kameng Dolo and Chow Mein, Assembly Speaker Wangki Lowang, MLAs and civil and police officers.

P D So and Tirong Aboh could not take the oath as they were out of station.

Among the appointed parliamentary secretaries, two were independent MLAs.

The parliamentary secretaries who sworn in include, Gum Tayeng, Phosum Khimhum, Tapuk Taku, Jambey Tashi, Tatung Jamoh, Alo Libang, C T Mein, Jomde Ke, Zingnu mchoom, Mutchu Mithi, Paknga Bage, Punji Mara and Tsering Tashi.

Pul who sworn in as the eight Chief Minister of the State on February 19 last after months of political turmoil, joined the Peoples’ Party of Aruchal (PPA)  along with 29 dissident Congress legislators on March 3 last.

With the defection, the Congress in the crisis-hit State reduced to 15 MLAs with an effective strength of 58 after two Congress MLA resigned. The BJP which has 11 MLAs in the 60-member house is extending outside support to the Pul’s government along with two Independents.

The Chief Minister expanded his council of ministers on March 5 last after inducting seven cabinet minister including two deputy chief ministers.
