Pul assures CT scanner for Pasighat hospital

Itagar, April 19: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has asked for immediate procurement of 16-slide CT scanner for Pasighat General Hospital in East Sing district during a meeting held at Pasighat yesterday with the district health officials.

The cost of machine estimated at Rs 1.70 crore would be procured in three months, which would help doctors to investigate many types of diseases for early diagnosis, an official report said here today.

Pul assured to provide, according to the requirement specified by the health authority, one radiologist, one CT technician with proper degree and two radiographers. On infrastructure    support, he assured to provide funds for the main machine, a console and a doctor’s rooms.

Every week, the hospital receives about 10-15 patients requiring the service of CT scan and the numbers could go high if people were to come from the neighbouring districts, informed the health authority, the report added.
