Pul cautions SSA teachers of termition

ITAGAR, May 2: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul on Sunday strongly warned the agitating contractual teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in the state stating that contractual service of those teachers who will resort to and participate in dhar and agitation in the near future will be termited.

“SSA teachers are purely on contractual basis according to agreement; they have no right to claim for regularization, however, the welfare government has given commitment to regularize them whenever posts created by giving 25 per cent quota,” he said in a statement.

Pul observed that considering the difficulties and hardship being faced by SSA teachers, his government has given order to disburse monthly salary and placed three-month corpus fund exclusively for SSA teachers so that there should not be problem of salary and wages.

Terming the dhar staged on Thursday as politically motivated, Pul said, “Despite my all efforts to address their (SSA teachers) problems, they went on dhar which really saddened me”.

Clarifying the fincial position of the state government, he said the rumour of overdraft was spread with an ulterior motive.  “At no point of time, there had been overdraft, it was only temporary withhold due to process of reconciliation to settle the account” he said. Pul further blamed Tuki government for creating huge fincial liabilities to the tune of Rs 2421. 69 crore, adding that the practice of Civil Deposit was adopted to conceal the facts that money specified for important works and public welfare programmes were spent for other purposes.
