Pul urges Assam CM to maintain friendly relations

Itagar, May 26: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has urged newly elected Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal to maintain friendly relations between the two neighbouring states.

 “Assam and Aruchal should maintain cordial relations and all historical, cultural and age-old ties,” Pul said during a courtesy call with Sonowal at Guwahati yesterday, an official release informed here today.

Also in his confidence-building measure, the chief minister urged to resolve the boundary issue between both the state through dialogue and peaceful means.

While calling for working together on all development issues, Pul urged for close cooperation between the two states in developing hydro projects in Aruchal and stressed on the need for taking confidence of the local people.

The chief minister also met Assam Fince Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma, Irrigation Minister Ranjit Dutta, Commerce & Industry Minister Chandramohan Patowary, PHE Minister Rihan Daimary, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, the release added.
