Pul visits NDRF personnel

Itagar, June 27: Chief Minister Kalikho Pul on Saturday visited the personnel of tiol Disaster Response Force (NDRF) currently stationed at Chimpu to boost their morale as well as test their disaster response works and preparedness.

He dashed into their inventory room, where all the life-saving equipments and devices to be used during the time of earthquakes, floods and other tural calamities, were stored, an official release informed here today.

The chief minister checked all the equipments, living rooms, toilet, office and kitchen etc. Interacting with the personnel, Pul encouraged them to keep sense of belongingness wherever they serve. He informed that a separate chopper would be pressed into service for NDRF and also for SDRF and state police to assist them in carrying out their duty. Pul asked the NDRF to conduct mock drills at regular intervals to educate the public about dos and don’ts during calamities also through newspapers and pamphlets. The chief minister also assured to look into matters of land availability for stationing of NDRF unit at Doimukh in the space allotted to SSB. He also said that a permanent site would also be decided at Hollongi, the release added.
