Pulin Das Birth Centenary to Kick off in Nov 1

GUWAHATI: The birth centenary of pioneering sports journalists and sports organizer Pulin Das will be celebrated with a year-long programme in Guwahati. The centenary celebration will begin on November 1.

Announcing the news to the media the general secretary of the Pulin Das Birth Centenary Celebration Committee Kalyan Das said, “The year-long celebration will begin with a Memorial Meeting on November one at Assam Sahitya Sabha premises. Larsing Ming Sawyan, eminent sports organizer and the owner of Shillong Lajong FC, will deliver the keynote address on the topic-Northeast a hub of sports talent. A few other prominent personalities like veteran sports organizer Premadhar Sarma, Prof Udayaditya Bharali and general secretary of Assam Sahitya Sabha Podum Rajkhowa will also attend the inaugural function.”

The other events which will be the part of this centenary celebration are Pulin Das Memorial Sports Literary Award by Assam Sahitya Sabha in February (2019), Pulin Das Memorial Lecture by Assam Sports Journalists Association in July (2019) along with Sports Photography and Sports Art competition in October (2019).

The media briefing was also attended by veteran sports organizer Premadhar Sarma, the vice presidents of organizing committee Subodh Malla Barua and Pranoy Bordoloi respectively along with veteran sports organizer Balendra Mohan Chakraborty
