Pur Vikash Central School celebrates 11th foundation day

SIVASAGAR, February 23: The 11th foundation day celebration of Pur Vikash Central School, located at Borali Demow Pathar, Joysagar was held recently in the school premises. The programme began with flag hoisting by Biren Baruah, retired Head of the Department of English, Sibsagar College, Joysagar.

The chief guest on this occasion was Priyanku Jyoti Sharma, Assistant Commissioner, Sivasagar. The formal programme began with lighting of the lamp by the chief guest. The chief guest in his speech blessed the students, appreciated their hard-work and showered words of praise and appreciation on the students for showing brilliance in academics.

The chief guest lauded the efforts of the school for producing such emotiolly integrated, morally strong, scientifically tempered and healthy young people and urged the students to keep advocating the values of hard work and health for a bright future.

The august gathering also included Dr Anil Saikia, retired Principal of Moran College, Dr Bipul Kalita, senior scientist, NERITS, Jorhat, Dr Rupam Sharma, scientist, NERITS, Brahmakumari Rajjogini Rajani, director, Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya University, Sivasagar, Jugal Ch. Kakati, maging director of Pur Vikash Central School, Ajanta Kakati and Dombidhar Taye, chief co-orditor of the celebration committee.

The cultural programme which followed was a spectacular performance by the students of the school. The philosophy of human thought reflected in the traditions of the communities of India pervaded and formed a backdrop to the various musical and dance items performed on the day.

To honour the stars of Pur Vikash Central School for their commendable performance in various areas, prizes were distributed to them by the guests. Diti Bakatial, student of Class IX was awarded with Best Student award for the session 2015-16. Further, a souvenir brought out on the occasion titled Pur Varta, edited by Pallav Jyoti Buragohain, was also released by Dr Anil Saikia.
