Purbanchal Cement celebrates Bihu

Guwahati, May 11:  The Purbanchal Cement celebrated Rongali Bihu with the people of Morogdula, Sarutari and Tamulikuchi villages. During the two-day program organized to foster the brotherhood among all communities, Bihu ‘Huchories’ were organized in the village households. Village elders were felicitated with gamochas and packets of traditiol Assamese cakes and sweets.

The company, since inception, has been involving in many social activities, primarily in education, health & environment. The company has taken various CSR activities like awarding merit scholarship to the meritorious students of nearby villages and organizing medical camps. Further, the company organizes various awareness programmes concerning health and environment.

Recently, the company organized an eye checkup camp in association of Sri Sankaradeva Netralaya during which patients with various eye problems were treated. Among them Kanta Ram Rangpi of Morogdula village, Dhan Maya Giri of Sarutari village, Dhonoi Tumung, Kashab Tumung, Someswar Tumung of Soigaon village were given surgical treatment.

The company has been providing a 24-hour ambulance services for the villagers.

Awarness programmes were also held during events like ‘Earth Day’, ‘Dharitri Divas’ ‘World Literacy Day’ etc while science exhibitions and study tours have been organized for students.
