Puroik community decries lack of basic facilities

ITAGAR, Aug 5: The All Puroik Welfare Society Kurung Kumey and Kra-Daadi District Unit have expressed disappointment over the lack of basic facilities in its area. It informed that Govt Primary School Maching-Jeeping under Nyapin administrative circle, Govt Primary School Tayer under Phassang circle, Govt Primary School at Rayek under Palin circle Govt Middle School Polosang under Sarli circle and Govt Primary School Lebia under Parsi Parlo circle are not functioning and the teachers posted are drawing salary without any work. The union blamed the contractors and concern officers for deliberately corrupting the government schemes and not constructing the school buildings at the desigted place. While also saying that health care system has not yet reached out to the community, it said that people from the community are still living under below poverty line and that they are being deprived of government schemes. It further said that bonded labour system still prevails in the society.
