PWD employee goes missing

Tezpur, May 29: A PWD employee, Ram Chandra Das has been missing since Saturday night.   According to the police, the family member of the missing PWD employee lodged an FIR at Tezpur PS, according to which Ram Chandra Das (55), a resident of Tezpur-Kumargaon went out on Saturday evening for some work after which he went missing. “Last night we received three calls from his cell phone attended by an unknown person demanding Rs 4 lakh as ransom,” Niva Das, wife of Ram Chandra Das stated in the FIR, adding they received Rs 3 lakh by selling a plot of land three days ago. She suspected that her husband had been kidpped and someone who knew about the deal might have been involved in the kidpping.
