Haflong, Jan 16: Assam PWD Minister Parimal Suklabaidya assured to order enquiry on Jatinga- Haflong connecting road while talking to the media here at Circuit House recently.

Several individuals and organizations like former president of Dima Hasao BJP, Hamjan Langthasa, NC Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum and All Dimasa Students’ Union submitted memoranda demanding enquiry on Jatinga-Haflong road as they smelt something fishy in the process of awarding construction work to the company Simplex as Simplex has failed to complete the Jatinga-Haflong road of about 7.7 km even after spending major portion of the fund for the work.

Minister Suklabaidya was here to iugurate the second floor of Jajati Girls’ Hostel (KK Hojai Chatrinivas) of Uttar Purbanchal Jajati Seva Samity, Haflong constructed under CSR initiative by ONGC located near Tourist Lodge in presence of SSC Parthiban, ED Chief CSR, ONGC and Parag Abhayankar, Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramuk, RSS Karyakartas and VHP members. This was followed by iuguration of Skill Development Centre of Keshav Smarak Nyas constructed under CSR initiative by ONGC located near Tourist Lodge by Parag Abhayankar, Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramuk.

In this connection, a well-attended meeting was also held at the newly-constructed skill development centre and was attended by minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Parag Abhayankar, Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramuk, RSS Karyakartas, VHP members, and RK Jeme, president, Uttar Purbanchal, Jajati Seva Samity.

All the speakers, while appreciating the donor of the land for both Jajati Girls’ Hostel and the three-storey skill development centre, said KK Hojai, who was associated with RSS and also VHP, contributed a lot for the people of this place. His contribution for the society should be remembered with great respect.
