PWD Minister inspects Karsingsa sinking zone

Itagar, June 24: Aruchal Pradesh PWD Minister Gojen Gadi on Tuesday inspected the tiol Highway-415, severely damaged by the month long heavy rainfall, particularly the Karsingsa sinking zone, which has spped the lifeline to the state capital.  Gadi, who had earlier visited the spot on June 8 along with PWD (Highway) harlagun division Executive Engineer Khoda Gyati, held discussion with the engineers, local leaders and contractors to assess the problems.  Massive landslides had buried two earth movers completely on June 20, the minister was told by the engineers who also said incessant rains was obstructing restoration work as landslips were continuing.  Responding to questions, the minister said during his recent visit to New Delhi he had received positive indication from the Union Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways on sanction of the four-lane Itagar-Hollongi Highway and allow speedy construction of a RCC bridge as a permanent solution to link the state capital. Gadi also informed that the reformation and maintence work would be carried out rapidly so that the road is opened for commuters as soon as possible as it is causing a big pain. “We will post-haste the work from today and all the engineers and contractors will be present at the spot so that the work is executed properly and promptly,” he added.
