Pynursla block Congress committee dissolved

SHILLONG, Sept 2: In line with its strategy to revamp the organisation in constituencies where there is a hint of rebellion, the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has dissolved the Pynursla block Congress committee. 
According to sources, ex-Cabinet minister Prestone Tynsong who represents Pynursla constituency may deflect to either the NPP or the BJP. Sources on Saturday informed that the MPCC wanted to remove the close aides of Tynsong who are leading the block Congress at present. Sources also revealed that there is an attempt on the part of the MPCC to rope in new faces into the party.
On Saturday, the MPCC elected new members of the Pynursla Block Congress Committee with H. Khongthani as the new president. 
The MPCC gas also entrusted Khongthani to elect other members of the block Congress.
Reports of dissolving the block Congress committee comes a day after it’s MDC from Lyngkyrdem - Laitkroh, Jansing M Tynsong, pledged support to suspended Congress member and Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Chief Executive Member, Pynshngainlang N Syiem. The Congress is in the opposition in KHADC.
The MPCC had already dissolved block Congress committees in Mawkyrwat, rtiang and Umroi Assembly constituencies, which is being represented by Congress MLAs, Rowell Lyngdoh, Sniawbhalang Dhar and Ngaitlang Dhar respectively.
The dissolution of these block committees represented by the three sitting Congress MLAs is an indication that the MPCC is anticipating that they trio may not contest the upcoming election on Congress ticket.
The MPCC had also dissolved the block committee in constituencies represented by MLAs from other political like in Mairang, Mawkynrew and Mawryngkneng.
Despite, reports of dissolution of the Pynursla block Congress committee Tynsong a couple of days back had said that he will apply for Congress ticket.
